In the month of December this phrase couldn’t ring truer, “It’s the most wonderful time of the year…”, and most football fans will agree with you.
If we were to discuss conference dominance there is no question about it that the road to the National Championship goes through the SEC. Having five teams from this conference that are all ranked within the top ten is absolutely impressive and goes to show that although you may catch one SEC team slip in the playoffs, there is potentially another tougher SEC opponent waiting for you down the road.
SEC Teams:
3 Georgia (12-1) (7-1)
6 Ole Miss (11-1) (7-1)
7 Texas A&M (11-1) (7-1)
8 Oklahoma (10-2) (6-2)
9 Alabama (10-3) (7-1)
Big Ten. The second most dominant conference displayed by having three teams in the playoffs:
1 Indiana (13-0) (9-0)
2 Ohio State (12-1) (9-0)
5 Oregon (11-1) (8-1)
The other conferences/team represented in the playoffs:
Big 12: 4 Texas Tech (12-1) (8-1)
ACC: 10 Miami (FL) (10-2) (6-2)
American: 11 Tulane (11-2) (7-1)
Sun Belt: 12 James Madison (12-1) (8-0)
